CAVE PAINT PHOTOCHROME R24 ARCHIVAL PIGMENT INKS

The Cave Paint Photochrome R24 inks were developed as a wider color gamut replacement for the
original Epson Ultrachrome K3 as used on the Epson Photo R2400, and the Pro 4800, 7800, and
9800. Users will experience brighter reds compared to the original inks. Because of this wider color
gamut, new profiles are required and Ink2image provides free ICC color profiles for this purpose.
The R24 formulation is freely mixable with the original inks so no printer flush out is required on desk
top printer models. However, we recommend that cleaning cartridges are used on wide format Pro
printer models before installing the R24 inks so that no color mixing occurs - see our cleaning
products page for details on cleaning cartridges. Cave Paint Photochrome R24 uses advanced
pigment resin technology to provide stunning color, and low bronzing on gloss and luster type media.
As with the original inks, both Photo and Matte black ink versions are available. The R24 inks
provide excellent printer reliability, and are supplied in ready to use remanufactured wide format
cartridges and in bulk bottles for the Ink2image range of bulk ink feed systems. Cost savings of
between 50% and 70% compared to using original cartridges are normal when using Cave Paint
Photochrome R24 inks.
The Cave Paint R24 inks also work well on older printer models such as the Epson Photo 2200 and
Pro 4000, 7600 and 9600. Users of these printers will experience better color and reduced bronzing
on gloss and luster media when compared to the original Ultrachrome inks. Again, cleaning
cartridges are not required when changing to the R24 inks on desk top printer models, but we
recommend cleaning out wide format Pro models before installing R24.
Users of the Epson Photo 1400 can also run Cave Paint R24 in place of the original Claria inks to
turn this low cost, 13" dye based model into a true archival printer. The R24 formulation is mixable
with the original inks so no printer clean out is required, and Ink2image supplies free ICC color
profiles to enable users to get the most from the Cave Paint R24 inks.
