The refillable cartridge kit consists of a set of specially developed refill cartridges with bridge
chips, nine 8 oz bottles of Cave Paint Photochrome V3 inks, a chip resetter, and all necessary
filling accessories. Refilling is quick and easy, and is simply a matter of injecting ink through the
cartridge fill hole using the included syringes. The refillable cartridges require the use of the
ink monitor chips from an original set of used Epson cartridges in order for the ink monitoring
firmware on the 3800 to work correctly. Removal of the chips from the original cartridges is also
simple (full instructions included), and these are held in place on the Ink2image cartridges by a
novel, clip in ‘bridge’ chip design for reliable operation. The bridge chips enable the refillable
cartridges to monitor ink levels just like normal cartridges, and to stop the printer when they run
empty. After a cartridge has been refilled, a simple hand held resetter is placed on to the
bridge chip to reset the chip to full again, an operation that takes a few seconds. The
Ink2image cartridges can be refilled many times but will eventually show signs of wear at the ink
exit port seal. Replacement cartridges are available at the low cost of $ 20.00 each when this
